Champion/challenger protocol per brief §7. One entry per version. One change per version. Pre-registration is written BEFORE testing (§7.3.1) — a challenger without a dated pre-registration block is invalid.
Challenger pre-registrations live in challengers/ as one file each:
challengers/YYYY-MM-DD-<slug>.md containing: hypothesis, exact rule change, deciding metric, required sample size, pass threshold, data segment used (and that segment's remaining iteration budget of 3).
The first champion is the formalized core from Phase 4, frozen and hashed. No versions exist until then.
